What will happen first?
When you decide to choose me as your photographer, we will arrange a time and date to meet somewhere to discuss your needs. We will talk about what your expectations are: style, dates, shot lists, etc. We can discuss your hobbies, how those might come into play in your photos. If you love swimming, perhaps we can arrange a photo session at the beach. If you are an avid book worm, the library might be a good place. And so on, and so on. Your interests, your personality, everything that makes you who you are is what I want to capture in our photo sessions! After these initial meetings, once I have all necessary information, I will make sure that your photos are special and tailor made for you and your family!
What should I wear?
There are many opinions and "no nos" on what not to wear, how to match your outfits, color coordinating, etc. And while those are all valid points, more than anything, I want you to like what you are wearing in your photos! If you have a favorite shirt - wear it! I want what you want. That being said, for those who want that guidance, I have provided some links to useful information below.
For colorful, vibrant people, wear your crazy colors with pride! For more eclectic photos, I say don't even match those loud colors. The more, the better!
For neutral, classic people, wear your warm blues and grays. Don't be afraid of black, because in bright lighting, or even snowy scenes (for all you Michigan folks) it will result in a timeless look.
I will note, that while large prints often bring character to a photo, small prints are often too busy and hard to capture from a distance. Also, too much white can sometimes wash out your features.

Do I need to bring anything?
As stated above, when we have our initial meeting, we will discuss your interests. I am a fan of props! I also have many ideas that I am dying to try someday, and if you can't think of any major interests or hobbies you may have, I am full of ideas! Until discussed otherwise, just plan on bringing your best smile and an open mind!
